The Metro Health Grand Rapids Marathon is one of the fastest-growing sporting events in West Michigan. Locally “run” and managed, the race has grown steadily by 20% every year. It’s unique in its focus on the natural beauty of West Michigan, rather than the “concrete canyons” and city streets of other races.

- In 2007, over 85% of all entrants between 25-59; 70% are from Michigan.
- Last year, nearly 20% of all runners qualified for the Boston Marathon. This is a flat, fast course and is an important qualifying opportunity for dedicated runners.
In addition to Metro Health’s expanded commitment to the Grand Rapids Marathon through their title sponsorship, Gazelle Sports has joined the GRM as a Presenting Sponsor with training programs focused on beginners, young runners, and school outreach programs to promote exercise and healthy living.
